Well, after reading your profile, I believe a question popups among those who have just discovered the DJ behind this site.
It’s a little bit difficult to explain. At school I’ve got “Tukan” as nickname and that bird – Toucan – is really colorful, something I like very much (specially “Toco” and “Keel-billed”, which are species of toucans). One day, dunno why, my friend David called me by “tukančízi”. I don’t know where he had taken that blending between “tukan” and “cheese” from (because it’s meaningless in any language) but I liked its melody! Now, like everybody is changing letters and adding symbols or smilies, I’ve created “Tukancheez”. It was really catchy and became popular immediately! So, that’s the story of my UNIQUE nickname…
It was the year 2000 and I was by a local pub called “Prigl Bar” when I listened to something titled “Prigl Mix”. That was the first mix I ever heard, so it lit up the DJ inside me with a very strange spark! Then, I found a classic, “Studio 33 – The 31th Story”. That mix was from 1999 but it became one of my favorite mixes as soon as I listened to it!
I started to search for another “Studio 33″ mix and I began discovering new series and I became the best fan of mixes in the block. Someday I said to myself: “I want to do something like that too” and I created some small mixes… just like that! And that’s when I started my mixing career…
Oh, well… I did it with something really “simple” for mixing, it was a software titled “Mixmeister Pro”. But something really interesting happened with this software and it was that searching for some info about it on the “net” made me discover “Megamixers”.
Yup, megamixers.com! A web site dedicated to the world of mixing.
That’s my “home” when we talk about mixing! I’ve learned a lot from those guys at “Megamixers”!
Not exactly! I moved on to “Sony ACID Pro”, originally published by Sonic Foundry, now owned and run by Sony.
That’s right!
Close friends, of course! And I thank them because they suggested me to publish those mixes on internet.
Absolutely!!! At the beginning it was just for fun, but then people from everywhere started mailing me asking for more mixes.
I… I was just amazed!!! I couldn’t believe it! Mails from fans? It was something I didn’t count with. But it definitely gave me lot of strength to keep those mixes alive next to the fact that in Brno (Czech Republic) we don’t have too many DJ’s dedicated to the megamixes world.
Not at all!!! I do this for mere fun!!! I rate my mixes as “amateur materials” yet!
I must admit that I’ve receive respect after mixing my “Yearmix 2006″, which was at 5th place at (an online) radio station with competitors from all around the globe. That was a real big success for me, so I will continue with this mix on the years to come… if possible!
I was cooking something called “1000% Euro Tunes” but I have stopped this project as for now.
Eleven.
There are many tracks which deserves honor on this compilation, so I won’t choose any of them. All of them have ruled the 90’s and I love them all!
Thank “you” for interviewing me. I guess this will be great for those fans who want to know a bit more about me.
